My 2026 Reading List

My mental reading list has been never-ending for quite some time now. So I won’t put all the books in my head down in this post, but I do want to get some of the main ones out on “paper,” and I thought, “why not just share it with everyone?” So here goes…

Number one… You may be surprised I’ve never read this yet, and I am too, honestly…

Pride and Prejudice

Yes, I know; it’s a classic and it’s Jane Austen and it’s probably really good, but, no, I haven’t made it to this one yet. It’s been on my list for a long time, though. Along with some other classics… I’ve watched the movie though! And yes, usually I’m one to read the book first and say “the book was better,” but unfortunately, I didn’t read the book first this time. I will say, though, that each time I watch the movie, I like it even more and more. (-:

Two…

Reshaping It All by Candace Cameron Bure

I’ve read Candace’s other books and I’ve really liked them, so I am looking forward to getting to this one!

Three…

Numbering Our Days by Nichole Suvar

Fiction tends to overrule anything else when I’m picking what book to read next, but I really do want to get to this one soon! I have a hunch that it will be helpful and encouraging to me, and there’s a good chance I’ll regret not reading it sooner!

Four…

The Christy Miller series by Robin Jones Gunn

I think I found out about these books last year (though I wish I would’ve when I was a bit younger), and I saved the first one to my Kindle list so I wouldn’t lose or forget about it (though I’ll want to read it in book form as usual). I’ve liked a lot of Melody Carlson’s teen books, and these sounded similar, so even though I’m not a high schooler anymore I still like books about teenage girls. (Sometimes I still kinda feel like a teenager anyway, honestly! Haha!) Plus I love series that go through the character’s life into adulthood, where I get to know them better and become “closer” to them, if you will. However, it will probably take me a while to get to this series since I’m currently in middle of a 28-book series right now… Hehe.

Five…

The Sisters of Sugarcreek

I received this book for Christmas, so definitely want to get this one read this year! I haven’t read Amish stories since I was a kid, I believe, but I’ve been wanting to read more “inspirational” for quite a while now! Also, I’ve recently started wanting to actually own more books, so I’m glad to add this to my small collection!

Ok, as I said, my mental book list is kind of never-ending, so I won’t be able to get through everything just this year, I’m sure. I’m not even halfway through the Elsie Dinsmore series, and I’m guessing the Christy Miller series will take a little while to get through, too, so… I’ll leave my 2026 list doable. There are so many series and books by other authors like Melody Carlson, Jody Hedlund, Francine Rivers, etc. etc. etc. that I want to read though!!! Not to mention some more classics… Anyway, hopefully I’ll be able to exceed this list in 2026 while also working, blogging, and all the other wonderful things I get to do and be a part of in my life!

Not because I need more ideas (lol), but because I’m interested to know… What books are on your 2026 “to be read” list???
