Summer Update

Hello, everyone! How’s your summer going so far? Mine has been pretty good, although slightly disappointing in some small ways. I was trying to decide what to write about this week, and I’m not as prepared as usual (there’s been a lot going on at my house), so I thought I’d give a little summer life update!

Since I already mentioned I’ve been a bit disappointed, I’ll fill you in on that first. Well, I had planned on getting a good tan this summer and soaking up the sun, but that has not been as successful as I’d hoped. I have a different job & schedule than previous summers, so I haven’t been in the pool as much, which is also sad to me, because it’s one of my very favorite parts of summer- one of my very favorite places to be, actually. I also feel like I haven’t done as much “fun stuff” with friends and family this year as other years. Thankfully, Lord willing, I still have time to work on my tan and go do fun things with my friends.

Like I said, those were only small disappointments. I’ve had a good summer, and it’s my own fault I haven’t worked around my schedule to get in the pool more. One of the things I’ve been doing is watching a couple shows with my sister and mom. We’re watching “Road to Avonlea” and “Sue Thomas, F.B. Eye,” both for the first time for me. So far I like both. (If you haven’t picked up on the fact by now, I’m an Anne of Green Gables fan. (-;) I really don’t watch shows, so it’s been different for me to actually consistently watch not one but two shows this summer! (Have any show recs that are similar to “Little House” or “Road to Avonlea?”)

I’ve also been reading, and although I enjoy reading, it’s been slow going. I’m still on the Elsie Dinsmore series, but I’m planning to take a break and read a YA contemporary book and Pride and Prejudice. I feel like I should have read the latter by now, but I haven’t, so I’m planning to in August. Hopefully I will get it done in one month. Reading is one of my favorite things to do, but there are so many other things I like to do as well, and I also like to read in lengthy increments instead of ten minutes here and ten minutes there. (Can anyone else relate, or is it just me?)

A few highlights of the season have been going to a baseball game, going out on a boat a couple times at a lake, going to a water park, and going to camp meeting services.

Alright, I think that covers a lot of the summer so far. I hope I didn’t bore you! Hopefully next week I will be more on top of things. Let’s chat, though! What have you been up to this summer? Have you been reading or going on vacations or working?

Remember, summer is not over! August is a full month of summer, and I don’t want to keep hearing that it’s “Augtober” or any of that nonsense. I understand if fall is your favorite season, just like summer is mine, but please stop posting about all the things you’re looking forward to about fall and how anxious you are for it to cool down and whatever else gets posted about fall. There is a time for everything, and right now that time is summertime! Some people want to enjoy it while it’s here- don’t rush it. Where I live, we get about three months of summer and nine months of winter. (Ok, fine, I’m exaggerating a tiny bit. Only a tiny bit though.) Alright, I will end my rant. I just wanted to get it out while I had the chance.

Thank you all for stopping by! (-:

I can definitely relate to reading in longer increments instead of ten minutes here and ten minutes there! One I start a book, it’s really hard for me to put it down!😂

Glad I’m not the only one! Haha! I’ve been really wanting to read a book that makes me not want to put it down again- it hasn’t happened in quite a while! Hope you have a great day, Jonathan!
