Seasons

Hello lovely people! If you’re new, welcome to my blog, and if you’re back, welcome back! I’m so glad you decided to drop by! Happy fall! I feel like it’s finally starting to feel like fall. Just today, I broke out the autumn sweaters! I don’t know about you, but I think sweaters are a fall wardrobe staple (for the ladies, at least!). I don’t love everything about fall, but there are some perks. (-;

Speaking of seasons, as I sat here thinking about what to write about today, I got to thinking about this season of the year, as well as the season of life I’m currently in.

You know how summer seems to be so much shorter than all the other seasons of the year, and winter seems the longest? (I’m not the only one who feels that way, right???) Some seasons of life feel like that too. Some seem to drag on and on, while others go by seemingly so much faster. Isn’t it ironic that the seasons we don’t like as much seem to be the longer ones??

Personally, I’m not a huge fan of the season of the year or the season of life I’m in at the moment. However, as we have seen, seasons can change overnight- literally. And there are so many good things in each season- season of the year and of life. There are so many things I enjoy about fall, and there are so many things I’m so thankful for about the season of life I’m in right now. So although this season isn’t my very favorite season, there are a lot of things I do like about it. I may not like the increasingly cold temperatures or the early darkness, but I do think the leaves of the trees are pretty in fall, and I love Thanksgiving, and the fall-specific wardrobe pieces like sweaters and flannels, and football season can even be fun sometimes. This encourages me to look for the good in the season of life I’m in right now. There are so many things I do like about it, even though there are a lot of things I’m looking forward to in later seasons. I hope you can look for the good in your season, too!

Everyone is in different seasons of life, even people the same age. Some twenty-year-olds are single and still figuring out where to “start” in life, while some are in college with passionate plans to pursue a specific career, and may have a boyfriend or girlfriend, while other people their age might be married to the love of their life and living in their very own house already. All of these seasons are perfectly fine for all of these twenty-year-olds to be in, even though they’re the same age. Life isn’t a race or a competition. Everyone’s seasons look a little bit different, and that’s ok. Sometimes I even have to remind myself that it’s ok that my life doesn’t look like a lot of other people’s my age. God’s plans are different for everyone, and His plans are always good!

Just like each season of the year is on its way, you have a new season of life on the horizon. Not every season will be our favorite, but remember that there is beauty in every one of them. (And even your favorite season has its downsides!) I want to encourage you to try and make the most of whatever season you’re in, to enjoy the positive things that are a part of it, and don’t rush into the next. I know it can be hard, but I think it’s so much better than focusing on the negative and wasting that precious time!

That’s all I have for now, but if you have anything you’d like to add, feel free to do so in a comment, and remember that you can come back for more encouragement in the coming weeks as long as the Lord wills!

“There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven- a time to give birth and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted.”

Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

    Some seasons are downright hard, but you’re right, there is good in each season of life. It’s hard to remember and accept that when you’re in those seasons, but God works everything for good to those who love Him and are the called according to His purpose.
