Things I’m Thankful For
You may think by the title that I’m doing this one because it’s fall, but really, I truly am just so blessed and thankful for so much in my life. This kind of goes along with my other post, Life Update & Encouragement, so if you haven’t read that one head on over after this one!
There’s been a lot going on in my life lately, and though not all of it is pleasant, there have been a lot of things I have just been so thankful for!
I am so thankful that God loves me and hasn’t given up on me and that His salvation is free. I mess up so much and am so undeserving of His love and sacrifice, but He loves me unconditionally, and I am just so grateful. I know I need to work on showing Him that I am.
I am also so thankful for everything else He’s blessed me with! Including (in no particular order):
*My family, some of my very favorite people in the world! They support me so well in everything I do. I love them so much!
*My friends. This one’s something I’ve been especially thankful for lately. I think my relationship with my best friend just gets better and better, and I hardly even understand how that’s possible! I also have made some new friends and I’m so honored to be their friend. I also was so thankful recently when one of my best friends was so positive and encouraging for me to accept an invitation to go hang out with one of my newer friends- it was such a real friend thing to do! I know she could’ve been disappointed or even jealous if I would’ve left her to go hang out with other people, but she knew how excited I was to be invited and she was just so supportive! I have such great friends and I’m so thankful for them all!
*My car. I know that this might not sound super significant, but I’m so thankful that I have a car of my own and that it works. I spent most of my teenage years saving up for one and God provided me with one that fit almost all of my criteria. I’m so thankful that I had the conviction and patience to save up and pay for a car all in cash and that I don’t have payments to worry about. (If you’re a teenager -or anyone, really- I definitely encourage you to be patient and wait to buy a car until you have the money to do so if you can! I know how hard and inconvenient it can be not to have a car of your own for a long time -trust me!- but it feels so good (and a little nerve-wracking, to be honest!) to make a purchase like that with your very own money that you’ve saved just for that, and to not have payments on it and not be in debt going into adulthood.
*That one of my dreams already came true! It was unexpected, but I’m so thankful that it worked out the way it did. I am literally living a dream come true, and today specifically was a really good day regarding what it is I’m doing. I am so grateful to be entrusted with the responsibility I have in doing it, and am thankful it’s going well.
*Other believers, specifically ones in my community. I have been blessed to be able to volunteer with a faith-based organization and I love the community of volunteers that are a part of it! They’re so sweet and have great hearts for the ministry and I’m so thankful to be a part of it. I’m also thankful for the ministry itself, aside from the other volunteers.
*Opportunities. Sometimes I feel as if there’s nothing more out there for me to be a part of or do at that specific time and life looks so dull, but then other times I feel like there are multiple opportunities presented around the same time that interest me and that look like they’re possibly even from God. When I do have opportunities opened up to me and I take them, I’m so thankful that God blessed me with them and excited to see where they go and how they can be beneficial to my life.
These are only a few things I’m thankful for, and the list can just go on and on and I could go into so much more detail, but these are some things that have stuck out to me recently. I guess we get especially thankful for things we haven’t enjoyed for a while, like good times with friends when we’ve been lonely or making a little extra cash on the side when we’ve been struggling financially. Of course I’m so thankful for all the basic necessities that God blesses me with every day, and for all the ways God works in my life even when I don’t see it, too. I guess it’s fitting that I’m writing this in the fall and as Thanksgiving approaches and we take extra special time to recognize our blessings, but we should always be mindful and grateful for what God gives us any time of the year. To God be the glory!
Bye for now! (-:
