The Blog ‘n’ Me

Welcome, everyone!! I’m so glad you’re here! I’m Alexis, and my blog AlexLinnInspired is ONE YEAR OLD!!! My first post last year was a small “about” post before I really got it going and knew what all kinds of posts I’d make, so I wanted to do another “about” post for you now, especially if you’re new! (-: (It’s a little more than just that, though, so bear with me!)

A little bit about me: I’m in my early 20’s, working part-time right now while also volunteering, homeschooling a niece of mine, and, of course, blogging, trying to shine the light of the Lord in all I do! Some of my hobbies include reading books, shopping for clothes and other fun girly stuff, dancing, and more! I also enjoy watching my siblings perform in their extracurricular activities, being at home, and when given the chance travel within the country.

I started this blog in-between jobs a year ago, and am still going strong with it, even though there has been more job-switching since then! It had been in the back of my head for a while, although at first it was more of an idea to share my fictional stories with more than just my family. I still haven’t shared any of my works with anyone, but I hope to one day write something I’m really proud of and think is worth sharing with the world. I’ve always wanted to be an author, and even though I haven’t published a book yet, that dream kind of did come true when I started this blog!

As you may have noticed, AlexLinnInspired’s tagline is “Faith, Fashion, Fun,” which means my posts range from topics of Christian lifestyle to clothes and beauty tips and other fun things in-between! I aim to encourage others on this blog and lift them up and provoke them to think, not “influence” them to copy my personal style or force them to believe everything I do. I love being unique and having my personal tastes and style, along with having “unpopular opinions,” and encouraging others to embrace theirs! This blog is a lifestyle blog. Not to set trends or make people think my lifestyle is the best or “right” one, but to INSPIRE others! I hope that is what you find here- inspiration. Encouragement. Light.

I won’t make this too long and boring! Lol! But I also would like to say that I started this blog mainly for myself. Just for fun. Because I love to write. To let God use it however He sees fit. I like checking out my stats, yes; but I didn’t start this to become “rich and famous.” (If I wanted to be rich and famous, blogging probably wouldn’t have been the best way to try and do so. (-;) I wanted to have my own space to share my thoughts with whoever of the world wanted to be here. Instead of posting my thoughts on social media, this is a good place to share things because there’s no pressure for anyone to be here, so if others don’t like my content, they don’t have to see it. I want readers and subscribers who like my work. Who are interested. Maybe even passionate about the same things I’m passionate about!

This blog has been such a blessing to me this past year. I’ve had ups and downs in life these past twelve months, and this is such a great outlet for me! I can write about my experiences and feelings with the knowledge that I might just be encouraging others and letting them know they’re not alone! It’s helped keep me busy and feeling productive in the waiting periods between jobs, it’s been here to help me get out random thoughts that have been on my mind, it’s been here for me to tell the world how good and faithful my God is! I don’t have to be strict about the niche, because it’s mine. I’m not here for worldly success. I’m here to share truth, to have fun, to be a light in the world!

One more blessing that has come with this journey is the community I’ve become a part of. I was so excited when other bloggers started finding my blog and I became a part of the blogging community. I feel like I have some really cool online friends, even though I’ve never met them or even really know them well. (One of the reasons I can feel so connected to them, though, is because we’re sisters in Christ!) I love reading their blogs and interacting with them and continuing to find other similar blogs!
